Conspicuity Films

Adopted universally by the Emergency Services, these high visibility conspicuity films offer the maximum amount of reflectivity (up to 10 times brighter than traditional retro-reflective films). Care must be taken when using these materials though, as they will not conform to complex curvatures or mould into swage lines or recessed panels. All products have aggressive initial tack adhesives and are ideally computer cut on a flat bed cutter/plotter. Fluorescent versions offer excellent daytime visibility as well as obviously being reflective at night.

Life expectancy is between 3 years (for the fluorescent versions ) and 7 years (for basic colours).

Nikkalite Crystal Grade
Excellent all-round product – Requires edge sealing (usually carried out by the convertor when kits are computer cut) – Generally the most cost-effective film – Dry application only

3M DG3 (was known as DiamondGrade)
Historically the market leader – Requires edge sealing (usually carried out by the convertor when kits are computer cut) – Dry application only

Reflexite VC312 Daybright
Different construction to the two above, thinner basic colours, thick fluorescent colours – Does not require edge sealing – Ideal for lettering – Wet & Dry application – Colours less intense in daylight

The materials are identifiable by the distinctive markings within their construction as shown in the illustrations on the materials page.
